Acts 435

Minster Partnership with Acts 435.

........emergency financial help for local individuals and families.

In March 2022,  The Minster partnered with Acts 435 a Christian crowdfunding charity which, over its 13 years, has already given nationally over £4 million in small gifts of emergency help: when there are benefit delays, when there is illness leading to a loss of income, when there is domestic abuse, when those on low incomes cannot afford bus fares or the replacement of a broken cooker and so on and on.

This has made it possible to provide fridges and freezers, school shoes and cookers, baby buggies and beds, help with energy costs, etc. etc., to folk in Alcester and surrounding villages.

It is all carefully anonymous.  Needs are posted on the Acts 435 website and people can privately donate as little as £5.

If you find yourself in need of emergency financial help please contact: administrator@alcesterminster.org

If you would like to donate as little as £5 when there is someone or a family locally in need, contact stevetash@aol.com and you will be sent a link to the giving page.

Small gifts making a big difference:

Local mum............."Thank you to all you amazing people for the kind gift! This has made a massive difference to our lives knowing the childrens school shoes are paid for it will also help with me finding the childcare fees for September to enable me to go back to work without worrying about buying their school shoes thank you so much!!"

Church worker.......... "You might not see the difference you make but I can assure you, from having the soggy shoulder when mother’s have burst into tears at the receipt of their item and from the high fives that children have given me for helping them – you ARE making a difference.  More of a difference than you can possibly know."

One mum (this was from the national website) had recently escaped domestic violence, and was awaiting her first benefit payment. Without income she was unable to heat her home, or cook for her children. Thanks to Acts 435 donors she was able to top-up her gas and electric. Here is what she said:

"Today I woke up not wanting to carry on anymore, my stress and depression was at a real low. It’s so cold and the kids are hungry, I felt so depressed. Then you angels, wherever you are, have helped us. Your Advocate phoned and I just cried with relief. Today we will eat and we will be warm and today will be one good day. Going to make sure the kids get a warm cookie and rice pudding, their favourite treat. Thank you!"

“Acts 435 is a fantastic initiative. It is a very simple idea but a very exciting one! I am proud that the Church is taking practical steps to help those facing practical difficulties.”

Right Rev. Dr. John Sentamu, former Archbishop of York.
