The Mothers’ Union is a Christian organisation dedicated to supporting families, strengthening communities and sharing God’s love. Rooted in prayer and faith, we bring people together to encourage one another, serve others and make a positive difference in the lives of families both locally and around the world.

At the Alcester Minster, our Mothers’ Union is a welcoming community where faith, friendship and fellowship flourish. We invite you to join us as we grow together in faith and work to make a difference in our community.

Meetings
We meet monthly at Church House in Alcester, 12.30pm - 2.30pm
We have a very short service to start, a speaker is welcomed, followed by a Bring & Share lunch.
Admission is £1 and the raffle we hold each month is also £1.

Malcolm playing Christmas Carols for members to join in with and a Grand Raffle.

News

October 8th 2026 was our Mothers Union Meeting. We started the very short service with the traditional 'Plough the fields and Scatter'. The speaker this meeting was Susan Juned giving a talk on 'The Life of a Councillor'.

Susan mentioned the concerns that had to be looked into and the different decisions that had to be made.

She mentioned that Stratford District Council were top for waste and recycling in the District, also mentioning the Voluntary Drivers and Advise Bureaus people were able to approach.

Thanks was given by Barbara Munton who presented Susan with a flowering orchid.

Next months speaker will be Rev Julian Davey.

150 years of The Mothers' Union
Sept 2026

On Monday 21st September our Mothers Union were invited to take part in the 150th Anniversary at Shottery Church. Alcester new members were enrolled plus 3 of our members received certificates for many years of service!

The service started with lighting 3 candles, each remembering Marie and Jim Symonds and also Canon David Capron. The Rev Craig took part but the service was mainly taken by Karen Morris the Diocesan President. The address given by Catherine Bartlem.

The service was very meaningful and lasted 45 minutes, after which we were invited back for tea and a celebratory cake.

Mother's Union - January
The Mothers Union ladies held their committee meeting this month to discuss future engagements. Speakers have been organised for the year. Plus great interest was given on the 150th Anniversary of the Mothers Union.

The A.G. M. is on February 12th in Church House 2.30pm where members are asked to bring their 'Bring and Share Lunch'.
New members always welcome.
